Join The Sway Machinery for a night of music and reversal…one night only theatrical experience featuring randomly selected members of the audience (by consent only!!!)…

This unclassifiable, uplifting band is led by the singer and guitarist Jeremiah Lockwood, the grandson of the renowned cantor Jacob Konigsberg, whose choir Lockwood once sang in. Lockwood’s diverse musical influences also include a nearly two-decade apprenticeship in the New York subways with the legendary Piedmont blues master Carolina Slim…” —The New Yorker

The Sway Machinery has a long history of producing unique concert events that call upon the social qualities of the Yiddish-spiritual music tradition known as khazones (cantorial art music). Part rock concert, part theatrical experience, our shows have presented a unique facet of NYC culture for well over a decade, drawing together diverse communities in a radically inclusive environment.  Purim has been a part of our annal cycle of events for many years and has typically been a serious party…this year’s event will introduce a scripted theatrical puzzle that will involve the audience as participants in a story that unfolds over the course of the evening…
