This high-energy dance class honors the vibrant cultural legacy of Caribbean, West African, and African American dance traditions.

Brooklyn Academy of Music’s charismatic Teaching Artist Raka, with her ‘Creative Soul Synergy’ combines rhythmic movements, captivating music, and a host of creative activities designed to ignite your child’s spirit!

Students will develop a profound appreciation for the music, costumes, essential footwork, and expressive gestures characteristic of Jamaica, Bahia Brazil, Guinea, the Congo, Trinidad and Tobago!

Age Group: 8-12

Class Length: 1hr

Level: Beginner

Please Note:

• Doors open 15 min before class.
• Wear comfy, easy to move in clothing.
• Changing space is limited.
• Be prepared to remove shoes when entering studio.
