Feel the love, jealousy, fate and hope unfold as Carmencita weaves her story. Mark your calendars and don’t miss out on this free opera masterpiece!
La Carmencita is our reimagining of Bizet’s Carmen. Our version not only empowers the women lead characters, but critiques the abusive relationships that they are subject to in the original. Adapted by founder, Sasha Gutiérrez, and stage director, Rebecca Miller Kratzer, this version features a tango adaptation of the score by Latin Grammy Award-winning bassist and composer, Pedro Giraudo, leading his acclaimed quartet as our orchestra. The English translation will be projected in real-time.
The performance is free, but we suggest a $20 donation per person. Doors open at 6pm, show at 7pm.
