Jay Rodriguez – Saxophones, Bass Clarinet, Flute, Dream Wind Controller and other reeds.
Grammy Nominated artist Jay Rodriguez Sierra is setting forth on his journey of defiant hope by producing a live recording featuring 3 generations of master musicians.
Please Join him and be a part of this historic event on this special evening at ShapeShifter.
Muthaflower has been Jay ‘s brainchild bringing forth all aspects of his experience as a world class composer, reed player arranger and true visionary. The first recording of Muthaflower featured both ensembles separatelyx. Mutha – His trio with legends Victor Jones and Alex Blake was more of an acoustic hard swinging trio ala Sonny Rollins and his other trio project (Flower) – with Xavier Hill and Henry Jeria was his more electric conceptual band.
This live performance and recording will feature both ensembles as one to premiere his new works composed for this evening. Two amazing drummers, a bassist and pianist/keyboardist led by Jay on all reeds.
We will also have a special Guest DJ that evening TBA.
