Join us for a thrilling night of jazz as The Fat Cats take the stage at ShapeShifter Lab, joined by talented jazz students from Interlochen Arts Academy. This special performance highlights the power of mentorship and collaboration, bringing together rising young artists and seasoned professionals in an unforgettable musical exchange.
Since its founding at the storied Fat Cat jazz club in 2009, the Fat Cats program has nurtured over 200 young musicians from across the New York metro area. These students have had the unique opportunity to study with Grammy-winning musicians, perform on some of the city’s most iconic stages, and participate in international exchanges in Cuba and Hungary. Many Fat Cats alumni have gone on to professional careers in music and prestigious collegiate programs, carrying forward the tradition of jazz excellence.
Now, in this exciting performance, Fat Cats members will be joined by jazz students from Interlochen Arts Academy, one of the nation’s leading institutions for arts education. Together, they will showcase the next generation of jazz talent in a dynamic evening of improvisation, swing, and boundless creativity.
