In the heart of Brooklyn’s vibrant music scene, ShapeShifter Lab prepares to host the much-anticipated debut performance of the Eden Har-Gil Quartet. Comprising Eden Har-Gil on drums, Teresa Sanchez on upright bass, Itay Goldberg on Alto Saxophone, and Noam Shapira on tenor saxophone, the quartet promises an evening of musical transcendence.
Highlighting the occasion is the release of their inaugural single, “Nethermead,” a first glimpse into Har-Gil’s forthcoming debut album, “Hearts of Palm” to be released at the end of the month.
Har-Gil’s immersion in the city’s dynamic jazz scene has fostered collaborations with an array of international talents, enriching his sonic palette and imbuing his compositions with depth and diversity.
Originally from Kibbutz Yakum, Israel, Eden Har‑Gil is a New York-based drummer and composer.
He has been honing his skills under the tutelage of many jazz legends, such as Lenny White, Billy Drummond, Bill Charlap, Horacee Arnold and Anat Fort.
Since his move to New York City in 2018, Eden has played and collaborated with international musicians like:
Dave Pietro, Martin Wind, Steve LaSpina, Dezron Douglas, Caroline Davis, Lo Wood, Martin Nevin, and others.
Creating different projects and bands in the last couple of years (among those were the exploration of the music of Thelonious Monk, Andrew Hill),
Eden is now finishing his debut album “Hearts of Palm” which will be released in 2024.
The album features original compositions that present Eden’s unique sound and his world-class partners.
