Founded in 2014 by violinist Benjamin Sutin, New York Music Daily once described Klazz-Ma-Tazz as “Epically Haunting Lynchian Klezmer Jazz.” Klazz-Ma-Tazz explores a mix of original music and uniquely reimagined modern jazz interpretations of traditional secular Jewish, Eastern European and Middle Eastern music. Klazz resonates with a sense of nostalgic novelty and serving as a musical meditation, exploring the magic of the past while languishing the mystery of the unknown. The band has released two albums, both of which have been heard on radio stations around the world and have performed at City Winery, Golden Festival, Cornelia St. Cafe, DROM and World Cafe Live among other notable venues. In February, 2018 their arrangement of Ukrainian folk song, “Svalava Kozatshok” went viral on Facebook with nearly 20K views. “Wild, yet reserved, the music of Klazz-Ma-Tazz will surprise you, excite you and calm you, all in one sitting”. (Fred Stal, RG Magazine).

Led by saxophonist Elijah Shiffer, the Robber Crabs have been around in some form or other for ten years. Usually a quartet, the band explores the connections between early jazz, punk, avant-garde jazz, and many other places in between to create a distinctive, high-energy sound with a surreal and subversive sense of humor. The Robber Crabs released their first album in 2018; a second is long overdue.
