The TS Wind Ensemble is a modern take on the Philip Sousa, American wind band tradition using Theta Systems and scales to generate harmonic and rhythmic material, both written and improvised.
Music innovator, Ben Stapp has established himself as a singular voice both as a tubist and composer. Cisco Bradely describes him as having “a daring that few artists possess.” Bruce Gallanter recalls that his two hour opera, Myrrha’s Red Book, which received the Jerome Artist Award, was “unlike anything he reviewed in recent times.” His label, Uqbar Music, features Eight albums as leader; many included on best-albums-of-the-year lists.
Sam Newsome stands as a multifaceted figure in the world of jazz—a saxophonist, music professor, and accomplished writer. In 2022, Newsome received the prestigious Bronx BRIO Award for Instrumental Music and secured the title of Soprano Saxophonist of the Year in the 14th Annual International Critics Polls.
