With so many gifted and talented members\, creating this series was a natural decision and a no-brainer.\n\nThe baton of music and performance curation was passed on to Jay and Alexis by Beverly Grant—a great artist and long-time member since the inception of the Food Coop. Beverly is an artist\, photographer\, singer-songwriter\, composer\, and activist who has greatly contributed to our community.\nJason Weiner and the membership staff have played a key role in bringing this event to life. We thank them for sharing the same joy and respect for the arts\, which enriches all walks of life.\n\nBefore the shutdown\, this concert series was a crucial and pinnacle way of bringing us closer together as a community that truly cares about the world around us. Art\, in every aspect of our human experience\, is a life-healing force.\n\nAlexis Cuadrado and Jay Rodriguez are both professional musicians\, composers\, and producers. They have expanded the vision of the curation to create a platform for freedom of expression for all. Shapeshifter Lab visionaries Fortuna Sung and Matthew Garrison have also become vital to our mission\, generously providing us with their performance space across the street from the Food Coop.

SUMMARY:A Celebration of ALL IN MY HEAD by Jessica Morris
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an evening of readings from ALL IN MY HEAD: A Memoir of Life\, Love\, and Patient Power by Jessica Morris. \nWe’ll be joined by Ed Pilkington\, Jessica’s husband and Chair of OurBrainBank\, and Dr. Fabio Iwamoto\, the neuro-oncologist who treated Jessica and a leading voice in the ongoing search for breakthroughs in treating this devastating disease. \nJessica Morris was diagnosed with glioblastoma (GBM) — the most aggressive form of brain cancer — in 2016. Fewer than 5% of people survive beyond five years. In the face of this terrifying diagnosis\, Jessica chose to live with fierce determination and purpose. Until just months before her passing in 2021\, she informed\, empowered\, and uplifted countless others facing GBM. \nDuring that time she kept a blog\, which chronicled her experiences with experimental treatments\, her moments of hope and fear\, and her unshakable resolve to help others. That journey ultimately led her to found OurBrainBank\, a groundbreaking nonprofit dedicated to turning GBM from terminal to treatable\, powered by patients. \nBut the blog was only the beginning. ALL IN MY HEAD is the culmination of Jessica’s life’s work\, to inspire courage in others living in unthinkable conditions. Through her words\, Jessica shares her reflections on love\, life\, loss\, and the power of patients having a voice in their care. \nPlease join us to celebrate her book and to support the ongoing work of OurBrainBank. \nPlease arrive at 7pm; program begins at 7:30pm. \nGet tickets.

Transitioning from his jazz-infused roots\, Peter became a self-contained musical entity\, writing\, producing\, recording and performing all instruments under the moniker CROWNĒ. For this live performance he is joined by some of NYC’s most sought after sidemen: Ben Jamal Hoffmann (the show will also feature one of his compositions under the project “Soul Lever Lift”) and bass player of the band “Baroness” Nick Jost.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSet 2 | 7:00 pm–7:20 pm \n\nBand: Zoe Firn\n\nLineup:\n\nZoe Firn (acoustic guitar/vocals)\nSelena Tibert (electric guitar/vocals)\nAmanda Salguero (bass/vocals)\nIzzy Sollohub (drums)\nStan (harmonica)\n\n\nZoe Firn writes intuitive and honest music described as “earthy alt-rock\,” with lyrics and melodies that linger long after the first listen. Zoe’s latest single “Memorial Day” is a diary entry in song form about a bittersweet day with family. Her debut album “Atomic Force” is set to release in Fall 2025.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSet 3 | 7:30 pm–7:50 pm \n\nBand: Hugo Moreno\n\nLineup: \n\nHugo Moreno (var. With so many gifted and talented members\, creating this series was a natural decision and a no-brainer.\nThe baton of music and performance curation was passed on to Jay and Alexis by Beverly Grant—a great artist and long-time member since the inception of the Food Coop. Beverly is an artist\, photographer\, singer-songwriter\, composer\, and activist who has greatly contributed to our community. \nJason Weiner and the membership staff have played a key role in bringing this event to life. We thank them for sharing the same joy and respect for the arts\, which enriches all walks of life.\nBefore the shutdown\, this concert series was a crucial and pinnacle way of bringing us closer together as a community that truly cares about the world around us. Art\, in every aspect of our human experience\, is a life-healing force.\nAlexis Cuadrado and Jay Rodriguez are both professional musicians\, composers\, and producers. They have expanded the vision of the curation to create a platform for freedom of expression for all. Shapeshifter Lab visionaries Fortuna Sung and Matthew Garrison have also become vital to our mission\, generously providing us with their performance space across the street from the Food Coop.
