Beverly is an artist\, photographer\, singer-songwriter\, composer\, and activist who has greatly contributed to our community.\nJason Weiner and the membership staff have played a key role in bringing this event to life. Art\, in every aspect of our human experience\, is a life-healing force.\n\nAlexis Cuadrado and Jay Rodriguez are both professional musicians\, composers\, and producers. They have expanded the vision of the curation to create a platform for freedom of expression for all. SUMMARY:Evelyn Saylor - Music for Voices and Electronics
DESCRIPTION:Evelyn Saylor\, \nAnnie Garlid\, \nChloe Holgate\, \nLydia Saylor\, \nMyra Smith (voice) \n\n\nEvelyn Saylor is a composer and vocalist from NYC\, now based in Berlin. Her spirited music for voices with live electronic processing and for a cappella vocal ensemble shows influence from her involvement in contemporary and folk singing practices. Her work showcases virtuosic singing\, rich and unexpected harmonies\, and rhythmic interest while spanning a wide variety of vocal textures. She has collaborated with artists such as Holly Herndon\, Caterina Barbieri\, Dina Maccabee\, and Rebecca Lane\, among others. Resident Advisor describes her piece “Fantas Variation for Voices”\, released by Editions Mego\, as “featuring a backing choir of celestial singers … singing a sublime hymn. Their repetitive yet constantly shifting tones remind me of the work of minimalists like Philip Glass and Steve Reich\, or computer music pioneer Laurie Spiegel.” Saylor also composes music for modern dance\, theater\, and film.\n\n  \n\nFor her New York City debut concert at ShapeShifter Lab she will be joined by singers Annie Garlid\, Chloe Holgate\, Lydia Saylor\, and Myra Smith. The program will include solo and duo works for voices and live electronics as well as works for a cappella vocal ensemble.\n\n\n\nInstagram: @evelynsaylor\, @lydia_saylor\, @chloe__holgate\, @u_c_c_h_a_r_l_o\, @myrafowlkes\nFacebook: @evelyn.saylor\, @EvelynSaylorMusic\, @lydiasaylor1\, @chloe.holgate.3\, @annie.garlid.3\, @myrafowlkessmith
