He has performed with many artists over the year and his credits Tucker Antell\, Dave Santoro\, Jack DeJohnette\, Antonio Sanchez\, Jacques Schwarz-Bart\, Elliot Mason\, Jim Odgren\, Donald Harrison\, Darren Barrett\, Kurt Rosenwinkel\, Hal Crook\, Terri Lyne Carrington\, Lionel Loueke\, and many more. \nJoshua Davis was appointed as the Director of Jazz Studies at Penn State in Fall 2022. In 2023\, the octet released their debut album\, Elemental\, a collection of original music inspired by the classic elements of water\, air\, earth\, and fire. Fusing modern harmonies\, driving vamps\, and a myriad of textures\, Harvey brings these forces of nature to aural landscape. To culminate its release tour\, the octet recorded their live performance at Radio Artifact in Cincinnati\, OH. This exciting evening generated two separate recordings that are slated for release in 2024 with Hidden Cinema Records. Elemental (Live) will release May 3\, 2024\, containing live versions of the compositions from their debut album. Live at Radio Artifact releases August 23\, 2024\, with dynamic arrangements of tunes by Wayne Shorter and Tim Green\, and more original tunes from Harvey’s pen.

Since the 90’s Bill Ware and the Club Bird All Stars have performed numerous times around New York City with varying members\, always featuring original compositions by Ware. \nIn 2024\, Bill will take his Club Bird All-Stars into Van Gelder Recording Studio to record new compositions inspired in part by Bill’s film score work from the Covid-19 pandemic. This new iteration of the Club Bird All-Stars will feature guitarist Rez Abbasi\, with Matt King on piano\, Jay Anderson on bass\, and Taru Alexander on drums. \n

The instrumentation of clarinet\, trombone\, piano\, and drums in this project called “Horse’s Mouth” alludes to early small jazz formations in New Orleans and elsewhere\, imagining a bridge between this art form and the musical traditions from South America.

DESCRIPTION:Joshua Davis – bass \nGilad Hekselman – guitar \nIvanna Cuesta – drums \n  \nThis evening features the beauty of 11 and 13\, in compositions and arrangements by Josh and Gilad. \nJoshua Davis is the Director of Jazz Studies at Penn State. Recent performances include televised concerts in Turkey with Randy Brecker\, Sean Rickman\, and Timucin Sahin\, and a U.S. Dept. of State-sponsored Armenia concert with Jerry Bergonzi and Vardan Ovsepian. \nGilad Hekselman tours globally as a bandleader\, and has shared the stage with some of the greatest artists in jazz including Chris Potter\, Eric Harland\, Fred Hersch\, Mark Turner\, Anat Cohen\, Ari Hoenig\, Esperanza Spalding\, Jeff Ballard\, Ben Wendel\, Gretchen Parlato\, Ben Williams\, Avishai Cohen\, Tigran Hamasyan\, Aaron Parks and Becca Stevens among many others. \nIvanna Cuesta won first place in the PASIC “Hit like a Girl 2019” contest\, and has performed with Kris Davis\, Dee Dee Bridgewater\, Cassandra Wilson\, Leo Blanco\, Jacques Schwarz-Bart\, Tia Fuller\, and many more. She is currently a member of the Berklee Institute for Jazz and Gender Justice directed by Terri Lyne Carrington.
