DESCRIPTION: November 12th – January 11 \n 14 Brooklyn artists and their sidewalks \n\nOpening Reception – Thursday November 14th 5-8pm\nShort Stories by the artists & “Street“ Open Mic hosted by poet Paula Corso\n\n\n\n Mieko Asada\n Paola Corso\n Chris Doogan\n Francesca Furian\n Rich Garr\n Bob Hagan\n Tom Keough\n Diane Miller\n Janet Pedersen\n Joyce Riley\n Mary Cuddihee Skrill\n Janie Samuels\n Linda Schneider\n Ella Yang\n\n  \n  \n  \n\n Artists have always been highly aware of their surroundings. Often entire environments are noted: objects and architecture\, sights and sounds\, people and their stories. Monet and Manet painted Paris  at all times of day and night. Later\, the Ashcan painters depicted New Yorkers negotiating harsh city streets. Here\, 14 Brooklyn artists use bold color\, painterly surfaces\, cropping\, and often extreme attention to detail in depicting nuance on our sidewalks.
