They are known to the general public for many of their hit songs throughout the 70’s to the 90’s and to the present-day\, but they are also admired and revered as being one of the most talented and musical groups that also happened to have some pop hits! Their music is a huge part of the musical fabric that made up David’s early life\, well before he picked up the guitar\, along with James Brown\, The Jackson Five\, P-Funk\, Pleasure\, The Temptations\, and on and on. \nTheir music was powerful\, and their messages of Spirituality\, Love\, and Gratitude were too rare when much of the R&B/ Funk world sang about dancing and romancing and ‘gettin’ down’. \nMore on David Gilmore\nGuitarist David Gilmore has performed and recorded with many of today’s most influential artists\, including Wayne Shorter\, Steve Coleman\, Christian McBride\, Dave Douglas\, Rudresh Mahanthappa\, Randy Brecker\, Lenny White\, Stanley Clarke\, Sam Rivers\, and many others. \nHis latest release\, From Here to Here (2020 Criss Cross Records)\, is his sixth album as a leader\, and he has appeared on over 80 recordings as a leader or co-leader. Gilmore’s playing has been compared to guitarists as diverse as George Benson and Jimi Hendrix. He has received numerous grants\, including two Chamber Music of America – New Jazz Works Composer Grants\, and was nominated for the prestigious Doris Duke Artist Award. Committed to an improvisational approach that reflects a global awareness\, he conducts master classes worldwide and is a Professor at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston.

DESCRIPTION:Alex Yoo is a NYC-based drummer/percussionist versed in the styles of jazz\, rock\, R&B and gospel. \n  \nBorn and raised in Bayside\, Queens\, Alex began playing the drums at age 7 through his mother’s music school. He graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts in 2018 and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston\, MA. He studied drums with the great Billy Hart and Nasheet Waits\, and studied improvisation/composition with Jason Moran\, Melissa Aldana\, Jason Palmer and Henrique Eisenmann. \n  \nNow at 23\, Alex has performed with a wide variety of artists including Michael Formanek\, Michael Mayo\, Marshall Gilkes\, Fay Victor and Dave Holland. In addition to his collaborative work\, Alex performs with multiple of his own projects: the 8-piece indie-rock sensation Wally\, jazz quartet More Better\, and avant-pop duo PuriKoko. He is a regular performer throughout New York City\, frequenting venues such as The Jazz Gallery\, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola\, Elsewhere\, Baby’s All Right and more. As of September 2023\, he is also an audio engineer at the ShapeShifter Lab. \n  \nIn June 2024\, he will be on tour with artist Laura Elliott.

DESCRIPTION:Anthony Muthurajah is a Bahrain born Sri Lankan musician specializing in the bass guitar. Music was an integral part of his life unknown to him. At age 12\, he joined the local church band as the drummer and that’s where it all began. He was nurtured and mentored to eventually pick up the guitar and a little bit of bass guitar. At age 17\, he moved to Chennai\, India for a year and was an active part of the gospel scene. In 2010 July\, he moved to Kuala Lumpur to pursue his music education at the International College of Music\, a Berklee International Network partner school. While in college\, a change of heart made him switch to the bass guitar as his primary instrument from the guitar. From the summer of 2011\, he became highly active as a session bass player\, both live and in the studio. While in Malaysia\, he worked with Ning Baizura\, Michael Veerapen\, Jayesslee\, Melissa Indot\, Mokhtar Samba African Jazz Project\, Patrick Terbrack\, Valtinhio Anastacio\, John Thomas\, Lewis Pragasam to name a few artists.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHe eventually relocated to Doha\, Qatar in November 2014. He worked extensively with many visiting artists to the now defunct Jazz at Lincoln Center Doha and did a 2 month residency at the club with renowned singer from acid jazz group Incognito\, Deborah Bond. He then moved to Dubai\, U.A.E in the summer of 2015 working in various formats\, most recently having played bass for the world premier of Emirati composer\, Ihab Darwish’s album\, Waves of my Life which featured the Beethoven Academy Orchestra and Polish Chamber Choir from Poland on March 2018. Ever since his relocation to Dubai\, he focused a lot more on the educational side of music\, contributing to the ever growing need for video lessons on the internet. He has performed and recorded with artists like Grammy winning Composer and Arranger\, Steve Sidwell\, Frederic Yonnet\, The Brand New Heavies\, Mahesh Balasooriya\, Eddie Cole\, The Supremes\, Samvel Gasparyan and Layla Kardan in the U.A.E. His debut record\, ROAD NOT TAKEN was released on the 7th of February 2019\, which was well received by jazz audiences around the world. His second record\, titled PERENNIAL was released on the 27th of February 2021.Anthony is now based in New York City as of the summer of 2022.

He worked extensively with many visiting artists to the now defunct Jazz at Lincoln Center Doha and did a 2 month residency at the club with renowned singer from acid jazz group Incognito\, Deborah Bond. He then moved to Dubai\, U.A.E in the summer of 2015 working in various formats\, most recently having played bass for the world premier of Emirati composer\, Ihab Darwish’s album\, Waves of my Life which featured the Beethoven Academy Orchestra and Polish Chamber Choir from Poland on March 2018. Ever since his relocation to Dubai\, he focused a lot more on the educational side of music\, contributing to the ever growing need for video lessons on the internet. He has performed and recorded with artists like Grammy winning Composer and Arranger\, Steve Sidwell\, Frederic Yonnet\, The Brand New Heavies\, Mahesh Balasooriya\, Eddie Cole\, The Supremes\, Samvel Gasparyan and Layla Kardan in the U.A.E. His debut record\, ROAD NOT TAKEN was released on the 7th of February 2019\, which was well received by jazz audiences around the world. His second record\, titled PERENNIAL was released on the 27th of February 2021.Anthony is now based in New York City as of the summer of 2022.
