SUMMARY:The Park Slope Food Coop Concert Series #17
DESCRIPTION:A concert by and for the community—celebrating music and art produced by the Food Coop Concert Series Committee of the Park Slope Food Coop.\n\n\nThis concert features a dynamic lineup of artists spanning jazz\, indie\, and experimental music across four curated sets. From Charlotte Greve’s intimate solo performance and Amy Fy Lee’s warm\, string-infused songs to Hattie’s emotionally driven indie set and the high-energy GB3: Gentleman Brawlers Trio\, the evening moves fluidly between introspection and vibrant collaboration—offering a rich and engaging live music experience. \n  \nSET 1\n6:30 PM – 6:50 PM\nPerformer: Charlotte Greve \nLineup:\nCharlotte Greve — saxophone\, voice\, piano\, electronics \nAbout:\nCharlotte is playing her most current music solo. A mix of songs and drones. \n———————————————————————————————- \nSET 2\n7:00 PM – 7:20 PM\nPerformer: Amy Fy Lee \nLineup:\nAmy Fy Lee — voice\, cello\, guitar\nZoe Firn — guitar\nAlec Galambos — piano \nAbout:\nAmy Fy Lee is a singer-songwriter making simple\, sweet\, soulful\, sometimes whimsical songs on love and wonder. Often filled with strings\, she draws from folk\, indie pop\, classical\, soul\, dream pop\, and chamber pop sounds. She will be joined by musician friends Zoe Firn and Alec Galambos for this special performance of songs. \n———————————————————————————————- \nSET 3\n7:30 PM – 7:50 PM\nPerformer: Hattie \nLineup:\nMathias Jensen\nMelissa Carter \nAbout:\nHattie described by The Rodeo Mag as “achingly honest and full of heart\,” is the brainchild of Brooklyn based vocalist\, songwriter\, and audio engineer Melissa Kaitlyn Carter. Named after her great grandmother\, this project is an act of generational healing. The genre? Sad girl indie for the girl who’s trying to not be so sad anymore. \n———————————————————————————————- \nSET 4\n8:00 PM – 8:20 PM\nPerformer: GB3: Gentleman Brawlers Trio Set \nLineup:\nBecca Fox — vocals\nMatt Walsh — vocals & electric guitar\nQuincie Hydock — vocals\nGabriel Concha — percussion \nAbout:\nWhen Brooklyn collective Gentleman Brawlers performs\, it’s more than a concert: It’s an electrifying experience. Led by creative duo Becca Fox and Matt Walsh\, the band channels musical inspo Talking Heads with their distinct brand of Afrofunk and indie dance music that becomes a visual as well as auditory feast on stage. \n“If you can MOVE you can DANCE!” shouts an exuberant Fox from the stage — or from the dance floor\, where she’s joined the crowd. Gentleman Brawlers loves to engage an audience\, and the audience loves them right back. Celebrated by BBC’s Tom Robinson\, NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest\, & WNYC’s The Greene Space\, Gentleman Brawlers has opened for Cimafunk\, Fantastic Negrito\, & Los Amigos Invisibles. Their popular electronic trio\, GB3\, enables the group to bring its lively show to intimate spaces\, while still delivering a pint-sized pop punch to any venue. \n———————————————————————————————- \nThe Park Slope Food Coop Concert Series is one of the most exciting initiatives we undertake as a community. With so many gifted and talented members\, creating this series was a natural decision and a no-brainer. The baton of music and performance curation was passed on to Ludovica and Alexis by Beverly Grant—a great artist and long-time member since the inception of the Food Coop. Beverly is an artist\, photographer\, singer-songwriter\, composer\, and activist who has greatly contributed to our community. \nJason Weiner and the membership staff have played a key role in bringing this event to life. We thank them for sharing the same joy and respect for the arts\, which enriches all walks of life. Before the shutdown\, this concert series was a crucial and pinnacle way of bringing us closer together as a community that truly cares about the world around us. Art\, in every aspect of our human experience\, is a life-healing force. Alexis Cuadrado and Ludovica Burtone are both professional musicians\, composers\, producers\, and educators. They have expanded the vision of the curation to create a platform for freedom of expression for all. ShapeShifter Lab visionaries Fortuna Sung and Matthew Garrison have also become vital to our mission\, generously providing us with their performance space across the street from the Food Coop. Annie Keating does the magic with social media and Ave Carrillo is helping the group to the production side of things the concert series. \nInstagram
