This special performance highlights the power of mentorship and collaboration\, bringing together rising young artists and seasoned professionals in an unforgettable musical exchange. \nSince its founding at the storied Fat Cat jazz club in 2009\, the Fat Cats program has nurtured over 200 young musicians from across the New York metro area. These students have had the unique opportunity to study with Grammy-winning musicians\, perform on some of the city’s most iconic stages\, and participate in international exchanges in Cuba and Hungary. Many Fat Cats alumni have gone on to professional careers in music and prestigious collegiate programs\, carrying forward the tradition of jazz excellence. \nNow\, in this exciting performance\, Fat Cats members will be joined by jazz students from Interlochen Arts Academy\, one of the nation’s leading institutions for arts education. This performance will involve live instrumentals through a MIDI keyboard/laptop setup and vocals\, and probably a fun outfit.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n7 pm to 7:20 pm \n\nPete Sinjinn\n\nPete Sinjin – guitar/vocals\n\nSinger/Songwriter PETE SINJIN performs original songs in the Americana/Troubadour tradition drawing from the deep poetic well of narrative and protest.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n7:30 pm to 7:50 pm \n\nDavid Gilmore – Solo Guitar \n\nDavid Gilmore – Electric and Acoustic Guitars\n\nA solo guitar concert of select compositions by Wayne Shorter.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n8 pm to 8:20 pm \n\nThe Fisherman\n\nLauren Cohen\n\nMy fictional character “The Fisherman” plays his ceramic musical instruments to find love.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Park Slope Food Coop Concert Series is one of the most exciting initiatives we undertake as a community. With so many gifted and talented members\, creating this series was a natural decision and a no-brainer.\n\nThe baton of music and performance curation was passed on to Jay and Alexis by Beverly Grant—a great artist and long-time member since the inception of the Food Coop. Beverly is an artist\, photographer\, singer-songwriter\, composer\, and activist who has greatly contributed to our community.\nJason Weiner and the membership staff have played a key role in bringing this event to life. We thank them for sharing the same joy and respect for the arts\, which enriches all walks of life.\n\nBefore the shutdown\, this concert series was a crucial and pinnacle way of bringing us closer together as a community that truly cares about the world around us. Art\, in every aspect of our human experience\, is a life-healing force.\n\nAlexis Cuadrado and Jay Rodriguez are both professional musicians\, composers\, and producers. They have expanded the vision of the curation to create a platform for freedom of expression for all. Shapeshifter Lab visionaries Fortuna Sung and Matthew Garrison have also become vital to our mission\, generously providing us with their performance space across the street from the Food Coop.
