Part-Time Samurai is an up-and-coming neo-soul/jazz-pop group based in New York City. Bringing an exciting blend of complex uptempo tunes as well as sensitive, groove-centric music, the band puts on a live show that showcases each member and accentuates their thoughtful yet playfully sarcastic lyrics. Drawing on influences such as Jacob Mann, Louis Cole, Haitus Kaiyote, and the Beatles, to name a few, listeners can expect tight unison lines, pop melodies sung over active jazz fusion accompaniment, and some extended instrumental solos. Part-Time Samurai features a full horn section consisting of trombone, trumpet, and saxophone as well as vocals and a rhythm section that includes keyboards, guitar, bass, and drumset.
