The New York Youth Symphony Jazz Band will be celebrating the centennial of Rudy van Gelder, a legendary recording engineer who is responsible for recording several thousand sessions, with musicians including Booker Ervin, John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk amongst others.
